Will I have the opportunity to learn suturing in real surgeries during the course?
Yes, you will have the opportunity to learn suturing in real surgeries. Our course provides hands-on training where you'll practice suturing techniques under the supervision of experienced surgeons. After completing the initial training, you'll actively participate in surgeries and perform suturing on wounds alongside the surgeon.
What kind of suturing techniques will we learn?
Students will learn the following suturing techniques:
Simple Suturing Technique: Basic technique for closing wounds.
Vertical and Horizontal Mattress Techniques: Techniques for added strength and wound stability.
Deep Dermal Sutures: For closing deeper layers of the skin.
Continuous Suturing Technique: Efficient method for closing long wounds.
Continuous Interlocking Suturing Technique: Provides strong wound closure with a continuous pattern.
What kind of surgeries will we attend?
We do not focus on specific types of surgeries for students to attend. Our main objective is to teach professional wound suturing, a skill applicable in various surgical contexts. Most of the time, students will observe orthopedic surgeries.
How many students are in a group?
The minimum group size is 5 students, and the maximum is 10 students.
What are the dates and times for lectures and practicals?
Lectures: Wednesdays and Fridays at 18:00.
Practical Trainings: Saturdays at 14:00 or 16:00.
How long is the program?
The program lasts 8-10 weeks, depending on the frequency and availability of surgeries each month. We aim to provide you with ample hands-on practice within this period.
Where will the classes/clinics be held?
Theoretical and practical sessions will take place at GM Medical Centre. Additionally, one lecture and practical training in laparoscopy will occur at a private clinic. Surgical training, where you will practice suturing, will be conducted at Gudushauri Clinic.
Do we have a chance to observe or attend laparoscopic surgeries?
No, students will not attend laparoscopic surgeries. However, you will have one basic theoretical session on laparoscopy with a laparoscopic surgeon and will have the opportunity to practice on a laparoscopic training machine.
If a student misses a theoretical session, will mentors provide a makeup?
If you miss a theoretical session, we will provide you with the presentation from that day. If you have any questions, our mentors will address them and offer support as needed.
Can I choose my mentor?
No, you cannot choose your mentor. The course is guided by a team of two experienced mentors who will provide comprehensive instruction throughout your training. Both mentors bring extensive expertise to ensure a robust learning experience.
Do you provide certification upon completion of the course?
Yes, upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate. This certificate acknowledges your completion of the program and typically reflects a duration of two months.
Will I also receive a recommendation letter?
Yes, a recommendation letter will be provided upon successful graduation from the course. This letter will be based on your performance, including your suturing skills, professionalism, and interpersonal qualities, as assessed by the surgeons.
How long after completing the course will I receive my certification and recommendation letter?
Certification ceremonies are held after each group of students completes the program. Typically, you will receive your certificate and recommendation letter after the current group has graduated. If needed, we can expedite the process to provide these documents within a maximum of 3 days.
What payment systems do you have?
Students can pay for registration through our website or via bank transfer. Cash payments are not accepted.
Will the money be refunded after payment?
No, we do not offer refunds.
When is the full payment due?
The full fee must be paid within 3 weeks of the course start date. If the payment is not made within this period, the student will be given an additional 24 hours to complete the payment. Failure to pay within this extended period will result in termination of the course.
If a student does not pay the full fee after 3 weeks, can they continue in the next batch?
No, if a student does not pay the full fee after 3 weeks, they cannot continue in the next batch. They will be barred from enrolling in our courses for one year.
